2. Wales
Wales is one of the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom and the largest principality in the world. When the Romans withdraw from the area during the 5th century, a distinct Welsh cultural identity evolved which featured distinguishing elements such as a highly evolved secular legal system, distinct literary works and a focus on monastic asceticism. Wales has no less than four designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Anglesey, Clwydian Range, Gower and Wye Valley.
