Belfast

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and the second-largest city on the entire island, only Dublin is bigger. The name Belfast is derived from the Irish Béal Feirste which means "Mouth of the Sandy Ford" and the city develop at the mouth of the River Lagan during the 17th century. The area has however been inhabited since the Bronze Age and numerous archeological findings of great interest have been unearthed in the region.
