Southampton
Due to its long tradition as a major port town, Southampton has been the original port of departure for several noteworthy vessels, including the Mayflower and RMS Titanic. In our time, Southampton still serves as an important ocean liner port, particularly for luxury liners. It is also the largest freight port on the Channel coast and features several container terminals. There are many maritime museums and exhibitions to visit, several of them related to the Titanic.
